Schism between the American public and the military
Very good article talking about the idea of the citizen soldier concept. In this article the author proposes an idea of a "warrior class" evolving in America with so few Americans serving in the military.

Thanks. A well written article indeed. It's amazing the experiential differences in today's Soldiers which can lead to the very gap they speak about. How do we as Soldiers communicate our experience to people who do not understand and quite possibly incapable of understanding? Is there anything that can be done to embue a sense of civic duty in a population largely untouched by the realities of war and unaware of the second and third order effects of combat actions thousands of miles away?
