Canadian Exchange

This year 12 officers were selected from GCSC 11-01 to participate in A316 Canadian Staff Exchange from 20 - 28 March 2011.  The officers consisted of one Staff Judge Advocate, one Engineer, one Information Operations, one Adjutant General, one Military Intelligence, one Infantry, one Logistics, one Armor, one Marine, two Air Force officers and one Naval officer.   The officers participated in a one-week planning exercise focused on step three of the Canadian Forces Operational Planning Process, which includes COA development, war-gaming, and operational risk management.  The exercise culminated in a decision brief.  During the exercise the U.S. students leveraged their Maritime, Land, and SOF expertise within their team to provide the best information and experience to all syndicates.  The staff, faculty, and students of the Canadian Forces College were extremely professional, warm, and generous.  The staff officer exchange between CGSC and the Canadian Forces College is a great training event and provides an excellent strategic communication opportunity with an important military ally.
